Planespotting

Was that a Dakota just flew low over the town centre? - I think it was - probably from Duxford.

Certainly was, in RAF markings. Also thought I saw a Tomahawk (or Kittyhawk) going the opposite way earlier.

Just how low was it? To my untutored eye it seemed to pass worryingly close to the crane at the building site in Cowbridge, but I guess that was an optical illusion.

That explains the noise. I thought Stanstead air traffic control were directing planes to circle at 500 ft.

It seems sad that not many people realised the significance to today's date. Whilst many may not feel it has anything to do with them nevertheless it is significant. Shouldn't there have been a reminder campaign on TV, goodness knows they advertise and promote enough rubbish, they could have made the effort.
