I popped into the Co-Op and nearly bumped into Jesse Wallace (AKA Kat Slater) who was blocking the doorway. It looks like they were filming outside Calton Court opposite the Griffin

I drove past Sele School at 1pm and they had covered the "Sele School" sign with something else. Can't quite remember - something like "Clampmead School". Loads of big lorries in The Griffin car park.

Did anyone see this last night. Was easy to spot some of Hertfords sites. Sele School was renamed Clampmead Academy... which was the school no one wanted to go too. And the police station was the fire exit of Castle Hall!

I dont remember seeing any of those big chimney / kilns round Sele or Haileybury. Lovely shots inside the chapel etc at Haileybury, easy to recognise all that if you know it!

Me and Mrs Pez discussed the cooling towers visible in the background, and came to the conclusion that they may have been put in afterwards during post-processing. Always possible that they went somewhere that genuinely had them in the background I suppose, but given that they'd based themselves in Hertford and its vicinity for nearly all of the rest of it, it would probably be extravagant/uneconomical to travel somewhere else (I can't think of anywhere nearby that has three cooling towers like that in close proximity). So we still think those scenes were Calton Road area.

The hairdressers shop that featured was Mick's barbers in Hertford.

The Mercury suggests that the shop was in Hoddesdon, so possibly the estate was filmed around there too, with the cooling towers added in afterwards (it is amazing what you can do with computers these days) Certainly the row of houses that the family lived in weren't like any of the houses on Sele Farm, and there only appeared to be 1 day of filming which would tie up with the shots of the school and the scene with the kids jumping on the car at Calton Court.

Yes, the shop definitely was in Hoddesdon, in Norris Rise (just around the corner from my mother-in-law's)

Her shopping list is her own business. I just prefer to know whether prime-time celebrities are shopping in these parts. They can spend all their time emulating the apparent tele-visual embodiment of simple folks lives, but that doesn't compare to patronsiing our stores. It's like a Royal appointment.

The Sele Farm shops are renowned for being frequented by celebs. 'er indoors has seen Sol Campbell in the Co-op (buying lemons!) and Graham Taylor in Simmons. She can't remember what Graham Taylor bought.

Saw Graham Taylor in Simmons on 2 occasions myself a few years back . Was told he had a bolt hole in Ladywood Rd / Halleys Ridge area !!

It looked like most of the "posh school" bits were filmed at Haileybury...though they took the usual film makers liberties and, more carelessly, got the name wrong on the credits.

I did notice but was more interested in trying to spot familiar places, would not have stuck with it had it not be for the "local" interest................
