Anyone know what the fireworks are for? Looks really nice though.

I heard them but could not see them.

I think they are coming from Hartham.

If you mean the ones between 10-10:15, I'm pretty sure they were from somewhere at the top of Byde Street. There were indeed very professional looking but walking down Byde Steet I met a couple of angry residents brandishing rockets on sticks that had landed on their houses/cars!

They appeared to be coming from a garden on Parkhurst Road. Went on for ages, too - luckily didn't wake up baby Joby.

They were certainly big and loud, I wondered what on earth the banging was and I was at the back of a house in The Drive with the TV on!

I saw fireworks on Friday and Saturday. I heard, but did not see, fireworks last night around 2300 in the Bengeo area. Were these the same fireworks? I'm not complaining because they didn't stop me sleeping, but I did think it was quite late for fireworks, or whatever it was making the noise. It could have kept somebody else awake.

It certainly sounded like it, buzz, as I live near Ware Park. Maybe if I'd opened my curtains I'd have seen a spectacular display...I considered having a peek as I love colourful displays, but then rolled off to sleep - it wasn't that loud from Bengeo.

Being somewhat of an expert in this field, I don't think that the display was particularly impressive. I caught sight of a couple of the larger fireworks but didn't think the noise levels were particularly noteworthy. My family pets weren't in the least bit perturbed. All in all, I'd score it 3/10.

Grrrrr!! Totally irresponsible and unnecessary. Idiots. Some yahoos in the big house at the end of Redwoods decide to launch fireworks in August, and no-one bothers to complain? If it had been some kids in Hartham letting off bangers I'm sure the police would have been on them like a ton of bricks.

Having heard about these posts and reading them for myself I know realise that I was at this Party on Saturday night, I was lucky to be invited by a friend of mine who is a neighbour to the host, whom I might add seemed very pleasant person and not the Ogre he is being portrayed as here.. My friend informed me that she received a letter from the host a few days earlier, alerting them of the fireworks, even the time they would take place and that there would be a small display which was being put on by a close friend as a gift to celebrate his birthday.. And Oh my god and what a display it was, you get such good value these days from the bargain box at the local newaagents for £9.99…. Now the cocktail bar , the hog roast and the dancing that was off the clock, what a party!! Shame you only got to see the fireworks!!

Well maybe when he finds out about this useful website, he will use it to inform more residents. I heard he was being encouraged to put on a display on Nov 5th, due to the high acclaim the display has recieved, from party goers and residents alike.

quote:It was only a few fireworks, not WW3! They were not chucked at people or mis-used, what is the problem. Wish I could have been bothered to get off the Sofa and watch, enjoyed the bangs thiugh. Good luck to yhe guy for the next successful one. Mustnremember to object when there is a Royal Celebration, large sporting event with a display, unless of course it's Nov. 5th.

I can't believe how many people are complaining about this. Nobody moans about the hundreds of fireworks that drop from the Sky on November 5th, so why complain about a few rockets in August? Some people aren't happy unless they've got something to complain about. Mind you, this site would be pretty quiet if nobody complained!

It was in fact on the edge of my front garden and the refuse collectors walk right past it to collect my neighbour's boxes. My box placement was deemed unacceptable for the refuse collectors and they refused to collect it. How petty. Surely we are all trying to recycle for the same reason. I know they are probably only doing it for a job but what difference does the positioning make to them when there is no more work involved??? They sent an inspector round to mine as well (more wasted money) even though I sent a photograph of exactly where I placed my box. My box is now collected from the same place I have always left it. What a waste of time and money. Pot? Kettle? [;)]
