Good stuff - looking forward to seeing them. It will be interesting to compare them with the old set and see what's changed.

I think that is St Andrew's Street off centre to the right (from the bottom) which leads round past The Woolpack & so on to a left turn into Maidenhead Street. Looking forward to viewing the rest of the photos...

What amazes me about the aerial pictures is how you notice things that you just don't see from the ground, such as the big patch of green sandwiched between The Wash, Maidenhead Street and Bull Plain - anyone know what that is?

That Joby is Dolphin Yard attached in a small way to Adams Yard. Both have entrances in Maidenhead Street. The problems over planning in Adams yard have now been resolved so work on the offices and flats might begin shortly. I can't tell you what the state fo play is on Dolphin Yard. This is owned by Macs and no-one seems to know what their very short term ideas are. Apparently the problems with Herts County have now been resolved and the Library will now be going ahead. the big yellow fronted building is the Seed Warehouse and the bridge is being built just to the side of this into the car park. So they tell me.[?]

It's a great picture, and the bright sunshine means it's particularly clear. Look forward to seeing the rest.

Posh Bengeo for me please............. Shame you cant see the traffic wardens, must have all been inside the Bircherley Green Car Park. Maybe we will be able to get a clearer idea of the new house on Port Hill.

OK, they're all up now! Hertford From The Air 2006 There are tentative plans for a second aerial excursion in September. Hopefully I can get some better photos with the lessons I've learned from last week's experience, weather permitting. Because of the hot weather it was at times something of a bumpy ride!

Great photos - just one point Steve. The intro is misleading - Monday was the 17th July 2006 mate.

I noticed that one - in fact, I went 'pool spotting' through the entire set. Look out for pools on the Hertford North, Valley Close and Morgan's Road 'photos.

I'm not 100% certain but I think that it's a communal/shared pool for the residents in the housing development there?

It belongs to The Spinney and it's not as large as maybe it looks. I lived up there for a while and it was lovely to come home from work in the Summer and jump into the pool.

What is The Spinney? It sounds like a house from a fairy tale.

It is basically a block of apartments with a communal swimming pool and by recollection, a squash court.

What were these taken from Steve? I flew over Hertford Fri in my paramotor, forgot my camera! So I will have to do it again.

Went up in a Cherokee from Panshanger today - It was quite difficult trying to take photos - so full marks to Steve. Had to do a bit of judicious processing as the orignal digital phots looked very washed out. Difficult taking photos of specific things in the end I stuck the camera on Auto and just pointed and clicked.

Luckily I was in a high wing aircraft, so the only obstruction looking down was the wing struts.

Reply ID 21586

That would help - almost all of my photos had some wing in them. Still can't complain

Brilliant photos, just discovered one of the houses in our road has a swimming pool, I had no idea it was there! Can't seem to see the new house on Port Hill, I was hoping to get a brides eye view of that, or the folly on Port Vale.

Mainly because the developers have blocked it off to residents (and to everyone else as well) apart from erecting a small removable type shed which apparently is OK within the planning rules. A year ago that car park would have looked like a jam on the M25.

Wow, I've never seen a paramotor in real life - can you fly over again please, or show me how it's done, And? As for Steve, where was your high-wing from? I've seen a few Cessnae buzzing over Hertford recently - I thought they were Elstree guys practising their steep turns, as neither Panshanger nor High Cross have high-wing aircraft, apart from the PA-18 as far as I know.
