Is there anywhere in the area that offers a free wireless internet connection at all?

Yes, drive down my road and you can pick up about a dozen unsecured networks [;)]

Yes free Mr Rooster, I was looking more for places such as cafes or pubs where I can go and finish off my work at the end of the day as I am going to be without broadband for at least a week.

I sometimes get some rubbishy thing trying to override my wireless, and have to flick it back to mine. I seem to pick one up in a lot of places but they don't seem to be very useable, is it the signal. You can tell I'm a non-teccy - Thankfully [:D]

It is good to hear that there are some places that provide a service free. Hertford appears to be a generous town in that respect.

Dobbin calling. Come to the Black Horse and connect to the Internet. Just select the BlackHorse and you are in business. Free for customers, just ask for the password.

Free public hotspots are commonplace, especially in coffee shops, stations, airports etc.
