Cricket for children?
Hi
Anyone know of any local opportunities for an eager 6 year old to play cricket, Kwik or otherwise? Hertford seem to have an under 9 side but I guess that's 8 year olds...
Obviously at this age it's just having fun with bat and ball rather than working on his doosra, but I'd really like to encourage him.
Thanks for any advice!

Hertford Cricket Club offers cricket for 6 to 8 year olds on Saturday mornings. If it's anything like the Sunday morning (for 9 to 12 years) it's a drop in thing. Just turn up and pay a small sub. Sundays is a 2 hour session - not sure about Sats. You can pick up a sports leaflet published by East Herts from the swimming pool - it hs all the details on it. It might be worth checking the East Herts website too.

Hertingfordbury Cricket Club run a fairly large Colts section with a good reputation; 6 is about as young as is taken by most clubs - HCC included - but I'm sure the Bury would love to see him.

If you click on the "Officers" tab there is a name and phone number to call for Registration & Child Welfare that should be able to help you further. Or turn up at the grounds on a fine Saturday afternoon and make your enquiries in person; far better as you can see the set-up immediately.
