We have been experiencing a number of problems with our server relocation. Some people will have noticed a period of downtime whilst other might notice that their recent posts have disappearred from the forum. Hopefully we now have some stability with site.

Sorry don't agree. I think Steve tries to ensure as many views as possible are aired without falling foul of any legal wrangles, but has to remove purile posts which don't further the debate or those posts which are just insults. This forum isn't a chatroom; as I understand it's intended to be informative. I enjoy the forum and think Steve does a difficult job well.

to be honest, i dont know why this site is so strongly moderated - perhaps this can be explained. I've never seen a site like this before, so it does seem strange. If however it was a huge problem ( which it's not ) then people would just move to an unmoderated forum elsewhere. Surely as well, if this forum continues to grow then moderation will become quite a headache? Time then i guess to appoint community moderators etc..

Presume vering on the side of caution, which is reasonable. Good point about what will happen with growth.. As you say Code community moderators. Anyone know if there have been forums sued or closed down as a result of misuse??

I think steve(admin)does a great job on this site i have had things removed from this site and i have questioned it and have always found the responce to be justified certain people who use this site do so sometimes in a nasty way and should keep certain oppinions to themselves when thay are put on just to be rude or nasty to people and are nothing to do with the topic that is when thay are removed 9 times out of 10

I don't know, I'm a newbie. I'm pretty sure a lot of us know each other by other names. What I have observed though is that "admin" is more likely to remove critism of another individual than of himself or the forum. This undoubtably indicates a fair minded intent, even if one might not agree with the decision. Metphorically speaking, It's easy to shout "shoot the ref!" when your own player is sent off.

Steve and Admin are generally the same person. However "Steve" contributes to the forum in the same way as everybody else. "Admin" tends to be used to enforce the house rules and to moderate the board. He is not all bad - often he will modify an e-mail address to prevent the original poster from getting large ammounts of spam.
