Did anyone hear this explosion this morning ?

My son woke up at around 6am this morning, a good hour or so early. That explains it. Also...........look out of your window............unusual fog.

I was listening to Talksport at the time, and they were receiving phone calls from people who reported hearing the explosion as far away as Lowestoft. Hope your office is ok Ewoowar.

They were just saying on the BBC that it was heard in Northern France and Holland also.

Woke me up. I thought something heavy had tumbled over in the loft. Didn't make the connection until seeing the news after midday! [|)]

Was at a party the night before. So surely the effects of explosion are the reason why I kept vomiting and I had a pounding headache most of Sunday..

Surely we didn't get any of the smoke in Hertford? The wind was taking the smoke west & South West and we're east and a little bit North of Hemel. There has been some great fog over the last week though. I was in Northampton when the explosion happenned, which made getting home a bit of an adventure with no M1, especially when an accident took the A1 down to a single lane at Biggleswaide. Luckily the SatNav found a speedy detour but it still took 2hrs 30mins hours to get home instead of the 1hr 15mins it took to get there

We were just off the edge (you could see it to the SW): http://www.fvalk.com/images/Day_img_new/hemel-hempstead-dec11-0940z.jpg http://www.fvalk.com/images/Day_img_new/hemel-hempstead-dec11-0940z.jpg And again we're lucky to be in a northerly today.

quote:I assume that was a question, as you omitted the 'question mark' from your post, or were you telling me to enjoy the smoke? You see your statement could have two different meanings. So, in case it was a question, I will attempt to satisfy your inquisitive little mind. Smoke does not bother me, and before you ask, no I do not smoke and never have done, nor do I expect to start. Happy now???

So sorry to upset you, the post was not meant to offend you, my attempt to lighten the situation with a bit of humour. Considering your post in the White Horse 17.11.05., again I am sorry. Will I still be able to come along on New Years Eve?
