Wednesday 13 January 2010

A man has been arrested for affray after a customer was threatened with a knife at a sandwich bar.

The 20-year-old was taken into custody after a sign was pulled down at outside Subway and a bus window smashed at Hertford East Station. A passing Land Rover also had it's window smashed.

Sergeant Mike Wood, investigating, said: “I want to reassure members of the public that incidents such as this are not common in Hertford and we would urge anybody who may have witnessed these incidents or who may have information to help with our enquiries to contact police on 0845 33 00 222.

“We are also trying to identify the owner of the Land Rover which was damaged. If it’s yours, or you know whose it is, then please get in contact.”
