ARC Starts Monday

The District Council's new refuse collection scheme starts tomorrow, Monday 2nd November.

The Alternate Refuse Collection system will see recyclable and non-recyclable materials collected on alternate weeks. Black bins containing non-recyclable refuse will be collected fortnightly, whilst alternate fortnights will see recyclable materials in green, brown and blue bins collected.

New green and blue bins have been distributed to households throughout the town. Green bins are for paper and glass, whilst blue bins are for bottles and cans. Brown bins are for organic waste (food and garden waste) and cardboard.

There is no change to the existing refuse collection system for flats and multioccupancy dwellings.
