POLICE and schools are working together in Hertford town to combat young people who are riding their bikes without consideration for others.
There have been numerous complaints in recent weeks about young people riding their bikes on pavements in a dangerous manner causing alarm and distress to pedestrians.
PC Helen Grout from Hertford Community Safety Unit said: “Riding bikes in a dangerous manner on pavements is an offence and we are working with local schools to identify offenders whilst patrolling the area and by using CCTV.
“We would ask that young people who are riding their bikes to school and outside of school are considerate to others around them. Those who are riding their bikes without consideration for others will be dealt with accordingly.”
