Castle Hall Overhaul

Castle Hall is set for a major revamp next year, with a new dance studio, cafe, bar and gallery space.

East Herts District Council have allocated £600,000 to the project and instructed architects to develop a detailed design specification and obtain planning consent and tender prices for the work.

A draft business case, based on the overhaul and implementing a range of changes which will increase use of the hall would allow East Herts Council to reduce its subsidy to the venue by at least £700,000 over the next 10 years.

The overhaul would see the venue close for six months from April next year whilst the works are being carried out.
