Now is the time to strike folks - look at all this money available!

A hertford bypass is a drop in the ocean in that pot.

Also, an expressway linking cambridge, oxford and..... Oh; Milton keynes. What? Can understand the former 2, not the latter!

There seemed to be an understanding at the Regional housing plan meetings this week that the huge Gilston and Ware developments are dependent on (among other things) the Hertford bypass.

that's also true of the new welwyn development. the garden village one, can't remember what it's called.

Seems quite likely it will happen now.

id love to see some sort of cycle link, through to hatfield station, I think that would be really good, but no one seemed to agree. (I'd use it!). Cycling down the 414 is impractical!

I believe bypass is based on EHDC district plan using 6% of green belt to build 43% of the housing Gov has dictated. All this housing will be in the south for EHDC area (total is 44,974) with Gilston (Harlow) and the build around Cole Green/Panshanger area. HCCs sustainable transport plan talks of a dedicated bus route from Hertford towards Hemel so where is the A414 lane to serve that?
