Some members have commented that when they click on links in posts, they expect those links to open in a new window. Although this was the behaviour of the old [Snitz] forum, the default here is to open in the same window. This is regarded by many web designers are the "right" thing to do. This is not something that we have configured specifically for this forum - it is the default behaviour of the software.
Some users have commented that they prefer to open links in new windows. Others may not. If you would like us to change this behaviour, please vote in our poll.
Opening links in new window
Re: Mini festival Sunday aft.
My problem is that I sometimes click on a link, it opens in a new window, I start reading through it all and then get immersed in the link. When I want to return to the forum, it is so long ago that I have to start a new session and then my 'new posts' search has refreshed and I have lost some items.
I have just learnt to right click and open in new tab/window.
not so easy when on an ipad....

On Android, if you hold down on the link it'll ask you what you want to do with it, including the option of opening in a new window.Kateg28 wrote:My problem is that I sometimes click on a link, it opens in a new window, I start reading through it all and then get immersed in the link. I selected "no" because I'm one of those web designers that likes things to work the way they are meant to

I think it does that on an iPad as well.Steve wrote:On Android, if you hold down on the link it'll ask you what you want to do with it, including the option of opening in a new window.Kateg28 wrote:My problem is that I sometimes click on a link, it opens in a new window, I start reading through it all and then get immersed in the link. Strange. Yes, I did, and on my screen it shows a "no" clearly (see image - hope it's not too big):Steve wrote: Did you? There's no vote showing in the poll.
Edit: I just resubmitted the form as well just in case...
