Forum Closure
Regrettably, this forum will close at the end of 2019 after 17 years.
When the forum was launched in 2002 there was no such thing as Facebook or Twitter. The only means for people to discuss things in those days were online forums. In the last decade social media has become ubiquitous and there are a variety of platforms now available to discuss local issues.
Use of the Discover Hertford Online Forum has now declined to the point where there is no longer an active community using the service. The forum will be locked and no longer available for registrations or posts.

Re: Forum Closure
Thanks for all the fish.
Can you recommend other local channels to discuss issues than Spotted please?

Steve, thanks for all your time over the years and it was fun/informative but unfortunately like many of these types it's days are numbered.

Re: Forum Closure
Steve, I got the impression from your post that i could't reply so was going to email you. But you deserve a wider audience.
Thanks for all your help over the years. Thanks for keeping this forum alive. At times this was humorous, interesting, absorbing and informing all at once. I was able to post stuff here that officially perhaps I shouldn't have. But I did for those who were clever at reading between the lines.
You know what I mean by all this and this forum will be sadly missed, especially by the Mercury who often saw it as the their only source of local news and opinion; which it was.
Best wishes for the future.

Re: Forum Closure
I agree. I've thoroughly enjoyed this forum and it's a shame it's closing. Facebook forums never really do the topics justice like Hertford.net did.
All the best.
All the best.
Re: Forum Closure
Ironically (do I mean ironically?) Spotted seems to have gone very quiet. No posts original posts in over a fortnight. Just advertising.
Re: Forum Closure
Very sad but a sign of the times. Thanks Steve for keeping it going for so long! I had a lot of fun and found it very useful.

Shame it's gone really. Spent many an hour on here when we lived in Hertford 2004 - 2010. Actuaaly, even after we left. Thanks Steve for all the hard work
