What was happening at Hertford North on Friday evening?

Eight uniformed transport police and a small army of ticket inspectors out of uniform. All barriers had been switched to not work with Carnet tickets.

I asked inspector about the police presence and he said he thought there had been a bike theft!

Hmmmmmm......I think not.
