Re: My Turkish Kitchen
Visited for the first time last night for a family birthday. Excellent service, enormous selection of genuine Turkish Food. Would recommend it unreservedly. A great addition to the Hertford restaurant scene.

Re: 20 MPH zone West of Bengeo Street.
At least they'll be something extra to add to Estate Agents blurb: house situated in the favoured 'West Bengeo' location ;) But seriously, yes, it is a good idea - especially along Duncombe Road when frustrated drivers appear to speed up after being caught in the infamous Rat Run. Not sure how it'll...

Re: Best optician in town/area
I can recommend Jim at Designer Eyes in Old Cross. There's an excellent selection of frames, many of which are not found in Boots or Specsavers.
He's independent, too, and will take a prescription from Boots or wherever. Always very helpful.

Re: Sainsbury's
Mrs B was under the impression that I retired some years ago so a lot of boxes containing files etc have since been moved to the dark corners of the house. However although 9 pages seems an awful lot most of it if I remember was to do with the river, linkage, paving, the river walk and bridge, sign...

Re: Two Less Empty Premises in Maidenhead Street
Whilst it's great to see two premises in dingy old Maidenhead Street filled, I cannot believe that simple economics could suggest that two new eateries will be sustainable in the long term. Has anyone done a list or counted the number of such establishments now around?

Let there be light!
Can anyone explain to me why County Hall should continue to be floodlit (at some expense, surely?) while much of Hertford continues to be plunged into darkness at the stroke of midnight

Re: Independent Shops day - damp squib?
So this independent shops day thing, is a national event right? Kinda amusing.. They had exactly the same going on in Oxford. Like Black Friday, it's actually an American import http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Small_Business_Saturday" target="_blank Small Business Saturday is an American shopping holi...

Christmas Decorations in Hertford
Is it my imagination, or have the town's Christmas Decorations been erected earlier this year?

Re: Illegal Parking
It's been a while since we've had a thread on bad parking, so when I saw this I thought it deserved some coverage. Whilst the parking itself isn't illegal (although I'd call it selfish and irresponsible), it is certainly an offence to drive on the pavement, which I can only assume is how this vehic...
