Re: Warren Park Road
To be fair that road gets a lot of wear from the "Mums in 4x4's" contingent delivering/dropping off at Duncombe school. As previously discussed on the forum - woe betide anyone attempting to use the road to actually get from Port Hill to New Road during the "special" hours...

Re: Beesons Yard
"There is a plaque in Cowbridge ( I forget which shop possibly the old DIY one)" - That'll be the one on the right of Oh My Cod as you look at it. Was called "Biggles House" for a few years.

Re: New Wine Shop
My mum lives in a town centre far "ooop north" but with a similar (if older) demographic. A wine shop opened just round the corner from her which very much has the look of an Oddbins style off licence but also has a couple of tables inside and out where you can drink your purchases immediately witho...

Re: New Wine Shop
If you stock "proper" French cider at a reasonable price and Banyuls then you'll get my custom but, try ad I might, it may not be enough.

Re: Bengeo Gravel Extraction
As a Bengeo resident I have sight of a letter encouraging me object in the strongest terms. Now don't misunderstand me - I am against the development and will likely be objecting but those wishing to object must base their objections in the factual world and not the realms of unsubstantiated rumour ...

Ooo er! Let's hope they do a better job on the restoration than was made on the remains of St Mary the Less!

Re: Taxi Drivers Flouting Regulation and Law
Agreed - this is worrying. I know I am generalising here and there will be exceptions but I also have to observe that our local representatives of the taxi driving fraternity are also less than courteous to other drivers and not scrupulously compliant with speed limits. I say "fraternity" as I have ...

Re: Proposed Waste Incinerator
Yes - there will, inevitably, be a clamour from concerned citizens frightened that toxins released from evil incinerators will cause all sorts of science fiction type health issues. The more reasoned objections are usually more to do with the volume and timing of lorries going to and fro. Well yes ...
