Re: New parking fees

Call me stupid but how does one "pay" for this free half-hour? I mean do you need a ticket?

I can't believe the wardens would appreciate having to keep track all the ticketless cars for overstaying the half-hour. The ticket machine are all triggered by entering money, aren't they?

Re: A414 Road resurfacing

I was going to whinge about this as well (which I encountered when trying to avoid the Ware Road works!). I assummed they were going to come back and finish the job? If not, surely they could take the excess gravel with them instead of leaving it to slow everyone down, increase danger and damage car...

Thanks. This is what we are now doing. I haven't seen it for my own eyes but is there "Access only" signage up?

Re: St Andrew Street Closed

Apparently the closure starts from the Cross Lane/Hospital roundabout which means it isn't just St. Andrews Street but also some of North Road.

The nursery there had no warning of this.

Re: St Andrew Street Closed

Were there any warnings of this? I missed them. Am fielding frantic calls from Mrs. N still trying to get kids to Nursery on North Road!

Outside Tescos/Ware road yesterday was a nightmare also as they had works like at Old Cross with x way traffic light control!

Old Cross works

Sorry admin but the previous thread was locked (reductio ad ratrun).

Just wanted to say, well that was fun, the lights were completely out yesterday (bank holiday Monday) despite the same stagger/one-way bits/no visibility. A fun driving challenge... :o

Did the rain short them out?

Re: Waters Garage

Yes have used it a couple of times (and have been pleased with the results) and it's defintely a welcome addition. Not sure how it causes more disturbance than the dual carriageway! A retrograde step definitely. :(
