Zodiac at Hanbury Manor

(Admin I know it's not in Hertford but it's close and not your run of the mill place to go) Special occasion last night so me and Mrs. F. went to re-visit the site of our nuptials for dinner. The first thing to say about this place is that it is eye-wateringly expensive and in the past has not always lived up to the expected standards. This time I am pleased to say the service was very good and quick (another problem in the past) though there was one major **** up when they mixed up our main courses. The menu is fairly small and there were too many starters involving shell fish for my taste but that is a minor complaint. Portion sizes verge on the nouvelle cuisine side but we both were happy with what was served and presentation was excellent throughout. The wine list again was not huge and the cheapest wine was £25, most expensive £1560! Most came in at the £50 to £100 region. Overall a very pleasant experience and i would give them 8/10 which is well up on my last experience there 2 years ago.

so are you saying that your wedding was there 2 years ago and they weren't too good at catering that event, or that you last went there for dinner two years ago on a non-wedding related visit?[:)]

Went there for dinner 2 years ago to celebrate again and the restaurant wasn't really up to much which was very disappointing. Didn't go last year as Mrs. F was expecting. Weddings are a different department and they were very good though again pretty expensive.
