Transformed conservatory

Hi I posted in 2010 (just found the archived post) about inserts for the polycarbonate roof to help keep the heat out in summer. Didn't follow that was up. However, we've recently had the conservatory roof insulated and the results are brilliant and we can now use the room in winter as it keeps warm. Looks great too. It's a nationwide company who did it for us - let me know if you'd like details.

Hi Harran, Yes, please send me the details. Our conservatory has been pretty much out of bounds all winter and it's such a waste.

hi.. i'd be interested to know more. We inserted some (kind of) foil into roof a few years ago - it does a great job of reducing heat in summer but conservatory still an ice cube in winter; would welcome your recommendation.. thanks

We need to get our conservatory roof repaired or replaced. Original installation was by Hertford Glass and we'll let them quote but I'd be interested in alternative quotes. Interested to know what is the mysterious nationwide company that has been discussed on here, but also any other local firms that anyone could recommend.

Hi everyone Yes am currently on holiday :) but the nationwide company we used was Roof Revive. We've found the conservatory much more useable during the hot weather we've experienced, it is obviously still the hottest room in the house because of windows on all 3 sides. Would recommend.

Thanks very much Harran. I'd like to hear from anyone else that used Roof Revive - any comments please?

Call me cautious by nature but I'd always recommend seeing work first hand. Not suggesting nationwide firms are to be avoided but the business model is often to subcontract so it's worth checking local suppliers too.

Absolutely - good advice. I'm looking for local alternatives too.

Our thoughts exactly Toady. We viewed a property in Cheshunt before proceeding. We were unable to find a local firm who could carry out the work for us and the quotes for a new roof was too much money. Good luck.

I'm surprised that nobody has come up with any more suggestions for our leaking conservatory roof. I haven't yet contacted "Roof Revive" and I'd really prefer to get a bit more support from them from other ex-customers. Also I'd like to get a good recommendation from another local firm - apart from Hertford Glass who we'll probably get a quote from anyway. Actually, I'm not quite sure if this is the sort of job that a builder would do or if it is a specialised thing.
