Heating / Boiler
Have heating, possibly boiler issues. Just wondered if anyone had any recommendations for people who won't charge a fortune and are reliable?

Not a popular opinion I know but... we have a maintenance/repair contract with British Gas. When the heating packed up upon our return from jollies they had it all sorted within a day with no extra charge for parts or labour over and above the contract fees. They will maintain anything they can get a manual for!
Not very helpful with existing problems though.

Advance Heating in St Johns Street are very good and reliable and not overly expensive in our experience.

I agree Darcy, the maintenance contract with BG takes all the hassle out of a breakdown. I also have all my kitchen appliances covered. At least once a year my dishwasher gets blocked up, and they it gets fixed pronto!

hmmm... not really a fan of BG and they currently don't supply our gas/electric. Will give Advance Heating a call. Thanks for the help.

Neil and Les are the best plumbers/central heating guys I've used. 07946 182558. They did me a new boiler a couple of years back for half the price British Gas quoted. They've done me new radiators, moved old radiators, fixed pipes, the whole lot. Very friendly, super professional and fair prices.

I have to add my name to those recommending BG for their service contract. Reasonable cost, free annual check-up and they once came out first thing on New Year's Day to fix a problem for us. I would not necessarily recommend them for installations: for central heating I would recommend M J Game. Don't have his details to hand but he has been recommended elsewhere on this bit of the forum.
