Chimney Sweep
It is that time of year again when I need to get the chimney sorted. Can you recommend anyone and do you know their charges?

We used http://www.hertfordchimneysweep.co.uk/ a couple of weekends ago.
He's quite busy at the moment as you can imagine. £45 and did a really nice clean job, nice bloke too.

a little late to the party here (and they're not really based in Hertford), but Martin @ Archway Chimneys always does a great job for us. He covers Hertford and all the surrounding villages and does ours in Goffs Oak. http://www.archwaychimneys.co.uk/

We called Ian Veale from Hertford Chimney Sweep last Tuesday 17th January to ask for our chimney to be swept, but more importantly to ask if he knew a multi fuel stove fitter. We had a stove from our old house but had not found anyone to fit it. Luckily Ian can fit and supply stoves and he had ours fitted by Friday the 20th. As has been written before on here, Ian is a really nice chap and so professional. I cannot recommend him enough. It is difficult to have confidence in allowing people into your home to carry out work these days, but Ian is definitely highly recommended!!

Likewise for Ian.. very good indeed! He came a couple of weeks ago and fitted our log burner (previously self-"fitted" by yours truly (truely?) and we couldn't be happier. Very good.

How big is the chimney?
I have a 7 year old, a 3 year old and an adventurous baby that I could loan you for a modest fee (Victorian Nostalgia comes at no extra cost)

Another great job done by Ian Veale, Hertford Chimney Sweep. I would highly recommend him, so thanks to those who put me on to him in the first place.
