Gloss Magazine?
Hi,
Has anyone heard about this? They've sent me email asking if I'd like to advertise, but I can't see this kind of thing taking off...what do people think?
In their words..
"We believe that East Herts is a lively, trendy and vibrant area and that is what Gloss Magazine will represent. It will be aimed at the 18 to 35's market based upon a glossy magazine to include fashion and beauty for men and women, gadgets and gaming, nightlife and restaurants, local business listings, recruitment and property pages, recipes and local news, gossip and celebrity interviews."

I wonder if they've got their Gs and Ds mixed up [:D]
Major advertisers seems to be the Sugar Hut, Stone House and Hertford House.
Looks like it's aimed at shallow fashion-victims and wannabes.

I got an e mail as well, I think they have been throught the busines pages on here! I am afraid I just deleted don't think it is my style, I do very little advertising and then not in magazines, local or not!

If you Google the mobile number it brings up a builder.

They're simply emailing prospective advertisers? Poor way to conduct business IMO - from an advertising position, that is.

ditto. I haven't really advertised at all yet, but as a new business I'm still interested in ways of getting better recognition in case things slow up next summer. However the price quoted was way out for the lack of exposure it would provide.

By law all commercial emails must include the ability to remove yourself from whatever database was used to email you. This is typically an "unsubscribe" link at the bottom of the email. I would be very surprised if BT didn't include this in their emails.

Does it iritate anyone else the amount of different fonts? It really is a mess of a website - I work on a website and this would just not be acceptable.
But obviously it is a small company and probably their first try so I suppose it is bad to be too negative towards someone trying to make something.

I see that the local news is sourced mainly from Watford Observer and Hemel Hempstead Gazette!
