Sphere Mania
Has anybody tried Sphere Mania?
I only noticed them rolling down the hill when I went to play golf for the first time at Westmill Farm, so I looked it up and found this site:

It looks like good fun though. I just wondered if anybody could share any experience of this, either at Westmill or elsewhere before I take the plunge.

there was a review in that worthy tome The Metro a few weeks ago. By all accounts they do two different types, one where you are strapped in and the othere where there's a load of water in there with you and you are not strapped in. Apart from feeling dizzy the response was positive. They do have weight restrictions - and probably age restrictions - and you have to be of good health. I'm trying to persuade Mrs P to have a go as it sounds like great fun.

Alternatively, rather than subscribing to Metro, buy an Austin Metro and attempt any corner at 25mph or above. Same sky...ground...sky...ground...sky...ground experience.

I'm 12 years old and weigh and 31 stone...errrr...or something like that, with no diagnosed medical conditions.

shunt, I can do ground-sky-ground easily enough in an aeroplane - but staying on the ground is rather novel for me [:D] And besides, flying is cheaper than zorbing, by all accounts!

They are fully-booked, but have offered one single slot. I've booked the slot for lunchtime on 22nd September, and there may be a couple of spaces left if anybody wants to come along. Email me for more details if interested. They close on 07 October for the season, so it's lucky I got in with the booking today!

I first saw one of these Zorb balls four years ago at a Peter Gabriel concert. He sung 'Growing Up' from inside one whilst propelling it (and himself) around the edge of a revolving circular stage... took a lot of rehearsing apparently. With the stage lighting shining on and through the ball, it was both spectacular and at times hilarious (jumping up and down inside a Zorb looks very silly).
Anyway, ever since then I've been itching to have a go at Zorbing. Doesn't look like I'll get a chance before October 7th, so I hope they'll be doing this again next year.

Wow!
I am at a loss for words as to how to describe today's rolling down the hill in a big inflatable ball type experience.
More expensive than flying - yes, but more thrill per second - definitely? Greater feeling of safety - yup! And, at time, felt a bit like flying too [:)]
I am going back at the weekend for another one [:D]
