There is a haberdashers opposite the Stonehouse in Bull Plain which sells all things for knitting, sewing, craft(ing) etc.

Not an obvious post for me to reply to but Wifey is a convert to the new wave of knitting, crocheting and stuff. Jolie in Walkern is apparently regarded as the finest of it's kind in the area ( see http://www.jolie-home.co.uk/ ). Aside from that there's John Lewis in Welwyn Garden City where I've been forced to hang about too many times....

Thanks Herbert Lemons - Jolie's shop looks very nice indeed but for today I'll venture to the haberdashsers as it's within walking distance (no car & it's too cold to wait for the bus!).

Heart of Herts, opposite the Stonehouse. Just don't go in asking for help as they tend to go blank on you. You need to know what you want and why you want it. Don't worry about hiding your bushel, Herbert, Russell Crowe knits too, you know!
