Zeros Top Bar

I am looking for a venue for my 30th B'day Party. Does anyone have any experience of Zeros top bar ? I assume it is not the bar on street level that you can hire but an upstairs bar ?? It is in a central location and can be hired until 2pm. Or should I be avoiding this at all costs ? Thanks.

I think the top bar must be the one at street level, as there is a subterranean bar beneath it.

No, there is a bar upstairs too – there is the ‘cavern’, the street level bar and a small bar upstairs. It was ages ago I went (over 18 months) upstairs and it was rather pleasant, comfy chairs and a few couches. Provided you don’t mind the clientele in and around Zero’s (which in all fairness is quite a mix – usually all rather drunk) then it would be ok as I’m sure they had security preventing anyone from going up there unless ‘on the guest list’.

I think you can hire the 'snug' in Baroosh too, but this is pretty small an area.

It is also possible to hire a function room upstairs at The Salisbury - not sure if they can do a private bar though and sancks and nibbles can work out a bit pricey

You can hire Hertford rugby club, we have just renovated the bar area and it look much better. Loads of space and cheaper drinks.

As a person who has attended several 18 birthday parties I do have some experience of it. It has quite a small area of dancefloor with seats along it and a larger seating area at the back. I'm not sure how much it costs to hire but whatever package most of my peers had, the drinks were still £3 a go for a choice of draft stella, bottled corona, peroni or canned red stripe, as well as spirits alcopops and wime. There is also one toilet for men and one for women. This can cause problems later on at night when more then a few units have been consumed. It is perfectly good for a short while although having done the whole 9 till 2 once i arrived later on for others as being in the same space gets both very hot and it is easy to lose interest. I think with the hiring of the room you get the DJ and I am not sure how flexible it is in either having them play your choice of music or dispensing with them altogether.

I have been to a party in the upstairs bar of Zero's, its ok nice comfortable chairs etc.... The bar selections was very limited though and the prices a bit steep!! although it was a few years ago maybe it has changed since?
