Linda Haysey (EHC, CON, Hertford Rural South) is quoted in an article in The Daily Mail, defending a newly opened adventure playground for dogs, funded by the District Council.
Are they barking? Council blows £15,000 on adventure playground for dogs
Tory-run East Herts District Council paid £7,000 for the equipment. Installation costs and officers’ time more than doubled this.
Councillor Linda Haysey said: "The area has been designed to help dogs and their owners keep fit and active. It’s a wonderful way for dog owners to socialise."

Did the Daily Mail say whether it was a cure or a cause of cancer? They usually do. |

Excellent!
It's about time there was a concession to the dog-owners in the community.

| This is clearly a result of an EU directive sent down from our lords and masters in Brussels giving asylum seekers the right to excercise their gay and lesbian pit bull terriers at tax payers expense in our already overcrowded parks and countryside. Political correctness gone mad! |

Paid for with public money? In this economic climate?
Surely the money would be better spent on retaining Saturday free parking at Hartham. |

How can you tell if a pit bull terrier is gay? Should you ask its owner? |

Too right! But if it's the same money that pays for those odd little fenced-off things with a slide and a litter bin in, ie:

...then I want an adventure playground for my dog, with a fence around it to keep children out.

| and that cost £15k???? HOW?? I'm sure some fencing, a bin, a bench, a see-saw and slide don't cost that much! Did they include the cost of the land in that price? |

The article says £7K for the equipment, the remainder being installation and "officers' time" (whatever that is)" costs. |

| but even so, 7 grand for that kit and another 8 grand to install it? Typical waste of resource in the public sector |
