Since 1998 we have been providing information and news about the town.

In 2002 we introduced a lively community discussion forum and in 2008 we added a blog, covering news and events in the town.

Discover Hertford Online is an independent, privately financed website operating on a not for profit basis. Our aim is to provide an information resource for the town that benefits residents, visitors, businesses and anyone interested in finding out more about Hertford. We are based in the town and have many years of experience and accumulated knowledge in all things Hertford.

So what can we do for your business?

We offer a range of ways to promote your business, some free and some paid for.

Free Business Listings

We offer free directory listings to all business in Hertford. These listings can be searched either by business name or trade/product/service. You can add your own business by going to the directory and clicking on the Add Your Business link in the menu on the left-hand side.

Advertising

Our range of advertising options is increasingly in demand. We offer a range of placings - on our forum, blog, home page and many feature pages. Prices start at £5 a month, with discounts for 6 and 12 month campaigns.

Promotional Slideshows

We are currently in the process of rolling out promotional slideshows. These give a more narrative view of a business by providing photographic or pictorial information on products or services. You can either provide your own material or we can offer you our photographic services at a competitive rate.

Prices for slideshow promotions start at £25 a month for a five slide feature.

Blog & Shop News

Introduced in 2008, our blog features news about what's happening in Hertford. The feed features a filter for categories such as business, entertainment, events and housing. We encourage local organisation and businesses to send us short press releases for inclusion in the blog. For businesses this can include new products, specials offers etc.

Recommendations Forum

Our discussion forum includes a section for members to comment on businesses in the town. More often than not these are positive recommendations from people who have appreciated a product or service. Word-of-mouth recommendations can be a powerful promotional tool and some businesses find it's all they need to succeed.
