Carphone Warehouse Opens Shop

Two empty shop units in Bircherley Green have been taken on by national chains.
Carphone Warehouse have moved into the unit opposite New Look that was occupied by the Natural Clothing Store. This brings the total number of mobile phone shops in the town to four - three of them national operators.
Down by the river, Starbucks have applied for planning permission to turn the former Going Places unit into a coffee shop. This unit and the former restaurant next door has been combined into one retail outlet.
Also in Bircherley Green, card shop Seasons closed it's doors, whilst Hair4Men opened by the bus station opposite Bagalettes.
In Railway Street, Books@Hertford have opened in the former butchers. This brings a bookshop back to town after the closure of Methvens in January. In St.Andrew Street, a ladies and mens' boutique Dilemma has opened opposite Hertford Womens Society.
Other recent closures include employment agency Blue Arrow in Bull Plain, lighting specialists Viva Viva in St.Andrew Street and HC Racing, also in St Andrew Street. Mens' clothes shop Twisted Rio has also not re-opened following a theft that saw ofall of their stock taken.
Two estate Agents from Enfield have also recently opened in the town - Kings Group in Market Street and Lanes in Maidenhead Street.
Opening of Hertford's new Wetherspoons pub has been put back to February 2008.
