Police Car Crime Warning
 | Officers in Hertford Town Centre spread the word about car crime |
Police in Hertford are warning motorists to be on their guard following an increase in theft from vehicles.
In the seven weeks up to 28th January 2003 there were 82 reported thefts from vehicles, many from car parks in the town centre.
Motorists are being warned not to leave valuables on display in their cars. Local police are noting the registration numbers of such vehicles and writing to their owners to make them aware of the risks.
In addition, police are currently handing out Don't Bother kits, which includes a window stricker stating that there is nothing of value in the vehicle.
Police Advice
- Don't leave anything on display in your car
- Take all belongings with you when you leave the car - if you can't then lock them in the boot
