Traffic Chaos To Continue

Serious congestion at the junction of Mill Road and Ware Road is set to continue this week.

The Ware exit of the Bluecoats roundabout was shut during the day last week, with traffic diverted through the town centre. Problems were compounded by roadworks taking place on part of the diversionary route.

Contractors will again be diverting traffic this week as they continue constructing traffic islands, resurfacing and installing traffic lights. A representative for the contractors said that they were around a week and a half behind schedule, with the traffic lights being commissioned during the first week of July.

Work on the nearby bus station is scheduled to end shortly, with bus operators having access to the station during next week.
