Public Barred
Real Ale drinkers have been banned from drinking outside The White Horse in Castle Street.
Drinkers hoping to enjoy a pint in the sun are to be disappointed after the pub was forced to ban all drinking off the premises following a visit from local police.
The White Horse is popular with drinkers of all ages, especially during the Summer when customers would regularly enjoy their pints outside in Castle Street or in the Castle Grounds opposite.
A spokeswoman for Hertfordshire Constabulary said that complaints had been received about drinkers outside the pub and that they were obliged to act after it became clear that the pub was not licensed for alcohol to be consumed off the premises.
The White Horse has recently held its' May Beer Festival during which a notice outside the pub warned of the ban and referred anyone unhappy at the decision to contact the local police.
Have your say on this issue.
