The Master's House

The Master's House in Fore Street, Hertford Hertford's newest bar, restaurant and hotel opened it's doors on Tuesday 10th November.

The Masters House takes it's name from the fact that the building was once the residence of the Master of Richard Hale School.

Enjoying a prominent position in the town centre, adjoining the post office and multi storey car park, the hotel is just a stone's throw away from a wide selection of coffee houses, salons and shops.

The interior design and furnishings have been provided by nearby business Loftcat in Railway Street.

The Master's House bar offers a selection of wines, spirits and beers alongside an extensive list of skillfully mixed, freshly prepared classic cocktails. The bar has a substantial seating area consisting of a series of booths, bar stools and further tables and chairs, to create a relaxed environment, concentrating on customers rather than capacity. An over 21s policy will be applied from 8pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights.

Two dining options provide the choice of eating in the brasserie, which offers an uncomplicated menu consisting of a modest number of great-value dishes. Alternatively, the mezzanine restaurant features a selection of home cooked specialities including a varied mix of main courses with the likes of succulent bulls fillet served with glazed onion, parsnip puree and a barollo topping, pork belly, partnered with red cabbage, crackling and port sauce or, for vegetarians; portabello mushroom accompanied by potato, spinach pancake and gruyere cheese, finished with an apple jelly crumble.

The hotel itself is set over two floors, with the lobby benefiting from a separate entrance and reception to the bar and restaurant. Each of the fourteen en-suite rooms are equipped with Wi-Fi capability, LCD screens and unique hand picked furniture.
