The Stone House
 | | The Stone House in Bull Plain |
Hertford's newest venue, The Stone House, opens it's doors today.
The Stone House is on the site of the former Prince Regent public house in Bull Plain and is operated by Regent Inns, which also ran the Prince Regent. The company also run the Jongleurs comedy club.
The refitted building will feature four bars and a dance floor. There will also be an extensive menu and a wide range of drinks, including New World wines, cocktails and alcoholic milkshakes.
The menu has been designed to cater for all tastes - everything from light snacks to traditional choices such as fish and chips in the chef's special beer batter, burgers and Chicken Maryland.
The name Stone House was chosen because of the traditional materials, such as stone and wood, used in the interior, which is divided into zones. Manager Jon Singleton expects the venue to become popular for functions: "There's capacity for up to 500 but it's perfect for smaller groups too because we have these different areas".
The Stone House will be open until midnight on Thursdays and until 1am on Fridays an Saturdays.
