Tesco's Expansion Plans

Photo of Tesco signage Tesco is holding a public exhibition at The Corn Exchange to show off their plans for an enlarged store.

The three day exhibition opens on Thursday 17th January and will feature the company's initial plans for the Ware Road site, which includes a new store and 50 homes.

The proposed store is twice the size of the existing supermarket and would feature rooftop parking. Other options include a doctors' surgery and wind turbine.

The plans come six months after rival supermarket Sainsburys held an exhibition at the same venue on their plans for a supermarket on the old brewery site in Hartham Lane.

Hertford is currently served by three supermarkets. In addition to Tesco, there is also a Waitrose and M&S Simply Food.

Exhibition opening times:
Thursday 2pm-7pm
Friday 12pm-5pm Saturday 10am-2pm
