Town Centre Streetlighting

Work has started in the town centre to improve streetlighting.

Up to 27 new streetlights will be installed to improve safety and improve images captured by the town's closed-circuit television cameras. In addition to the new streetlights, more powerful replacement lamps will be installed in 10 existing wall-mounted lanterns.

A figure of £45,000 has been earmarked for the scheme following a study by Mouchel TSC. The new streetlights will match those already existing in the town. Work is expected to be completed by Christmas.
