Residents' Parking
East Herts District Council are to trial a Residents' Parking scheme in the town.
People living on Folly Island are to be asked by the authority for permission to conduct a pilot scheme with a view to extending it to other areas, including West Street and areas close to the town's two railway stations.
Commuters and local office workers are thought to be using residential areas to park their vehicles to avoid paying for long stay car parking in the town's car parks.
Before any schemes can be introduced, a percentage of local householders have to give their approval for the introduction of the schemes.
