Hidden Hertford:
Nicholas Lane

Nicholas Lane, Hertford This malting lies in Nicholas Lane which is close to the town's Old Cross. At the end of the lane is the site of the original ford from which the town takes it's name. Over the river is another malting which lies in Dolphin Yard behind Maidenhead Street. Both of these sites are in the town centre and are the subject of plans to redevelop the riverside.
