This overgrown railway crossing gate can be found in Mill Road where the old spur from the East Line crossed the road on it's way to the old North Station at Cowbridge. The track itself was lifted a number of years ago when the road was resurfaced. The associated disused sidings and track at Hertford East station remain although the property arm of Railtrack are currently formulating plans for the disposal of the site.
