Hidden Hertford:
The Isolation Hospital

The Isolation Hospital, Hertford This former hospital at the top of Gallows Hill was built in the latter half of the nineteenth century as an isolation unit for communicable diseases before there were any homes in the Ware Road. It was also used for post-operative cases from the County Hospital in North Road.

Note  The building shown was been demolished in 2001 to make way from the Hartham Place housing development.
