Along the way will be musical events and performances around the town during the three-week festival, including The Musical Mystery Tour on Sunday 26th August.

Together with new Hertford Music Festival sponsor Nigel Grint of Rigsbys Restaurant and Guest House, Mayor Jane Sartin joined Kev and the new Hertford Music Festival team at Rigsby's recently to toast the launch of this year's festival - which this year begins with ROCK AT THE CASTLE on Sunday 5th August.

Cllr Isabel Sigmac said: "Rock at the Castle has always been an enjoyable event and this year's line-up with exciting collection of talented musicians promises to be another great music festival. It's a great opportunity for people in and around Hertford to come and enjoy the music, dance and just soak up the whole festival atmosphere in the castle grounds."

"As always, we'll have acoustic solo and duo acts playing between main stage sets and the show will be closed as has become traditional with a rabble-rousing rock covers set from the Hertford Allstars featuring yours truly along with members of Los Ladrones, The Trash and Crimzen - and a very special guest vocalist who we'll be announcing very soon! In recent years, by pure chance, things have been dominated by male performers - so this year, I've tried to redress the balance with some seriously talented female-fronted acts, including Doris Brendel, The Ghost of Samantha, Divided Opionions and The Huxleys," says Kev Saunders.
