Melodrama in The Castle Grounds
Hertford Dramatic & Operatic Society are performing two short melodramas in The Castle Grounds over the weekend.
Written for noisy audiences, both will be performed hourly from 2:30pm on Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th July.
The Drunkards Dilemma and The Lighthouse Keeper's Daughter are both directed by Janie Barnes and feature performances from Katerina Ayres, Andy Kirtley, Godfrey Marriot, Frank Bye, Jim Markey and Pat Steadman.Audience participation is positively encouraged!
Melodramas traditionally have a hero, a villain, a beautiful young girl and her hardworking but poor parents or guardians and audience participation by way of "boos", "hisses", "aahs" and "hoorays" is greatly appreciated.
If you would like a giggle and also like the idea of some free family entertainment on a summer weekend afternoon, then pack a picnic and a rug and join in the fun.
There will be a retiring collection for the St.John's Ambulance Brigade and Isabel Hospice.
