East Herts District Council would like to know how you would like the district to look in 10 to 20 years' time and where would you put 8,500 new homes.

According to the district council, "planning is important because it ensures we get the right development in the right place, backed by the transport, shops and schools that we need".

The Council wants your views on the main choices to help set planning and transport and parking policies over the next 20 years.

Find out more and have your say at a Community Voice meeting on Thursday 2nd September in the Council Chamber at EHDC's HQ at Wallfields in Pegs Lane.

Representatives from Planning will be on hand to tell you more about how you can respond to the development of our new planning policies.

Cpouncil officials will also be consulting on the new transport and parking strategy for East Herts - which will influence decisions made for years to come.

Councillor Suzanne Rutland-Barsby, chairman of Hertford Community Voice, said: "As the population grows, it's important to consider the need for new houses, jobs, services and facilities and we need your help to plan for the future.

"From the street you live in to the places where you park, planning, transport and parking is a huge part of our everyday lives. So it's vital that local communities are shaped by residents. Come along to Community Voice and have your say."

The meeting starts at 7:30pm.
