Classic Bus Day
The fourth Hertford Classic Bus Day took place on Sunday 2nd June 2002.
Hundreds of people came out in fine weather to see 25 buses and coaches used for public transport over the last half century.
The classic vehicles ran free services on their old routes to surrounding towns and villages including Ware, Dane End, Stevenage and Nazeing. Many drivers and conductors wore period costume to complete the nostalgic feel of the event.
Many of the buses are owned by private museums and can rarely be seen in such numbers at one event.
As in previous years, Classic Bus Day was organised by Colin Rivers, a member of the RT/RF Preservation Society.
