Hertford Christmas Gala 2012

Live Music Acts will join Santa and his reindeer at the town's Christmas Gala this coming Friday .

The Ghost Of Samantha, Zoe Phillips and Roxy Searle are just three of the acts performing on stage in Salisbury Square between 4pm until 7.30pm..

Hertford residents and visitors will also be able to meet Santa and his Reindeer at the Christmas Gala. Santa will be in his grotto in the White Hart in Salisbury Square and his Reindeer will be stabled in Parliament Square for a couple of hours from 5.30pm.

The Simon Balle Band will also be on stage from 5.30pm before the Mayor of Hertford, Councillor Jane Sartin presents the trophy to the winner of the Hertford's Cheerful Trader competition and a prize to the winner of the shops' Winning Windows competition. The St Andrews Church Choir will be singing around the Christmas Tree after the Lights are Switched on at 6.30pm by the Mayor and Steve Folland, Jack FM Breakfast Show Presenter.

Visitors to the town will also be able to enjoy a variety of street entertainment, children's rides, a Festive market from 3.30pm and late night shopping.

Hertford Museum will be open until 8pm as part of the Christmas Gala. They will be serving mulled wine and mince pies, alongside hands-on festive family activities, Christmas story telling and carol singing.

The Gala is organised by Hertford Town Council as is supported by Paradise Wildlife Park, Cafe Rouge and 360 Play in Stevenage.

18.30 Lights Switch On by Mayor, Steve Folland of Jack Fm accompanied by characters from HDOS pantomine
18.45 Carols around the Tree with St Andrews Church choir
