Theatre Week 2011

This year's Theatre Week has been won by The Company Of Players, with their production of Moonlight and Magnolias by Ron Hutchinson, directed by Paul Morton

Runners-up were The Barn Theatre, with Heath Players taking the Stage Presentation Award.

Now in it's 50th year, the event was adjudicated by Colin Dolley GODA SASDA and as usual is a qualifying festival for the National Drama Festivals Association All-Winners finals.

Last year's winners were The Heath Players from Hatfield Heath.

The week long event is sponsored by Waitrose, Cafe Rouge, the Hertfordshire Mercury and Hertford Theatre, all of whom are offered a prize to be won by someone in the audience each weekday evening. The prizes were:

  • a gold Sovereign minted in 1962, the year of the very 1st Hertford Theatre Week, valued at £250 (donatde by The Mercury)
  • a £100 voucher for shopping at Waitrose, Hertford + a bottle of champagne (donated by Waitrose)
  • Dinner for 2 at Cafe Rouge in Hertford (donated by Cafe Rouge)
  • a pair of theatre tickets to any HD&OS show in the next 12 months (donated by HDOS)
  • a pair of cinema tickets to any film at Hertford Theatre cinema (donated by Hertford Theatre)

Hertford Theatre Week is run by Hertford Dramatic & Operatic Society.
