Theatre Week 2003:
CoPs Dominate Awards
The Company of Players walked away with three of the five awards at this year's Theatre Week.
The annual festival, organised by Hertford Dramatic & Operatic Society (HDOS), took place between Monday 28th April and Saturday 3rd May and featured four local drama groups.
The Mercury Challenge Cup for Best Production was awarded to The Company for their production of "Peggy For You" by Alan Plater, directed by Barry Lee. They also won the Roy Seaman Award for stage presentation and the Audience Appreciation Award.
Competition Runners-Up were the Hoddesdon Players with their production of "Quartet", whuilst the Adjuduicator's Award went to Masters Performing Arts for "Babes In Arms".
The adjudicator for this year was Paul Fowler, who has been actively involved in local theatre for over a quarter of a century.
