Hertford Art Exhibition
Hertford Art Society staged its 51st Annual Open Exhibition at The Corn Exchange in Fore Street between Sunday 4th and Saturday 17th May 2003.
The two-week exhibition featured hundreds of works of art and sculpture and was open daily from 11am to 9pm with free admission (Sun 4th May 1:30pm-4:30pm, Sun 11th May 11am-4:30pm).
A number of prizes were awarded as part of the exhibition. The John Goss Prize for the best overall work was awarded to Grenville Cottingham for his painting entitled Dyers In Fez. The Bill Dale Award for the best work by an active member was presented to Jeff Smith for his work Rialto Pescheria. Paul Curtis won the Mayor's Award for best abstract or surrealist work, with his entry In a Garden, Late Evening.
Most of the work on show was available for purchase.
