Hertford Art Exhibition
Hertford Art Society staged its 50th Annual Open Exhibition at The Corn Exchange in Fore Street between Sunday 5th and Saturday 18th May 2002.
The two-week exhibition featured 280 works of art and sculpture and was open daily from 11am to 9pm (Sunday 5th 1pm-4:30pm, Sun 12th 11am-4:30pm).
Three prizes were awarded as part of the exhibition. The John Goss Prize was awarded to the best overall work, which this year was judged to be A.V.Cocksedge's "One Man and His Dog". The Mayor's Award for the best surrealist, abstract or non-representational picture was won by "Harmony" by Jean Noble. The Bill Dale Award was received by Alan Evans for "Blue and White Jug with Yellow Daisies".
Most of the work on show is available for purchase.
